Kumily – short stop

on the way from Kodaikanal to Varkala or Allepey (Alappuzha), though west or south, you pass a place called Kumily(i). common place for staying one night, because the way is quite long. I did the same, arrived after not driving very long. checked into a place put my stuff started walking. needed new sunglasses because i lost my good one from germany (first thing I lost after more than 4.5 months). due to that I walked up the street really far for the first glasses-shop. I saw almost the whole city I guess and there are just hundreds of shops and restaurants, the same shop like in Munnar. Tea, coffee, spices, homemade chocolate, all the Products Of Kerala. Yes, you are back in Kerala just a few km from the border.
Here is not really much to do, and anyways I’m just about to stay for one night. OK would not be the first time I accidentally stuck at a place ;) Here are some Trekkings and Jungle things. haven’t seen more signs.
2 doors next in my guesthouse I met two very nice guys from Kerala, one living near Allepey, one living near Kochi, had a few drinks with them, found out that they are driving west direction Allepey on their motorbikes and joined them. Very good idea! haven’t been in Allepey, just a girl I met told me something about it and after I realised that i have almost 3 weeks left which i don’t wanna stay in Varkala, well I went to Allepey. beautiful ride on smaller streets no highways with great company. had long talks and i learned lots of stuff about India in general, the region, politics, tourism, specialties like Tapioca and Fish-/Beef-Curry (for ‘normal’ people probably very spicy, i kinda don’t taste spicy so cannot be clear about :D )

well though I went to Allepey and I love it!!

BEACHTIME – nothing better than after a long time on the bike just to throw away all the stuff and clothes and jump into the ocean.

PS: i know you guys will read it…thanks for the experience! we will see again in april when I’m coming back.
